γεια σας! That would be hello in Greek and the first appropriate Greek word I learned. If you are on this page it might be because you googled "where is Elise from Global News now?" or you know me personally and want to follow my drastic life change. Either way you are here now. Welcome! A little about what you are getting into; over the past year or so I have been keeping a journal about my life. As a journalist I find this therapeutic and a way to get everything that's going on in my head on paper so I can actually sleep at night. What you will find is a personal blog along with some travel advice and stories about a Canadian who has been in love with a Greek, attempting some kind of long distance relationship during a global pandemic, and the stories that go along with it. 

I have never written a blog before so this is all new to me. I really have no idea what I am doing and I am just going to write what I feel and share info that could be helpful for people looking to travel/live abroad. I am also going to share the funny stories that have filled my life with joy. This includes communication issues, cultural differences, balancing life between Alberta and Athens and experiences that have opened my eyes and my heart.
